Melanie Castaneda was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. Her passion for photography began when she decided to participate in the creation of her high school yearbook. Soon after, her interest in journalistic photography developed into documentary, portrait and geography themes, as seen throughout her portfolio. 

Smiles Photography was established in 2016.
